Control the Frizz

Is there a way to minimize frizz?

Frizzy hair is usually a sign of the hair follicles are open.  To control frizz first you would wash your hair with moisturizing hydrating shampoo and then you would apply a moisturizing hydrating conditioner.  Blot your hair never rub, rubbing causes open cuticles to frizz, then you would add a moisturizing leave-in conditioner, make sure to apply a small amount of natural oil to damp hair using your fingers raking it through your hair and scrunch on the ends.

Around the frizzy hair areas you can control the frizz by applying a natural oil for example virgin olive oil, silicone tends to become plastic like on the hair strands so I do not suggest using it.  Keep in mind that a little bit of oil goes a long way, try applying the oil only on the ends to the mid shaft, too much will weigh down the hair.  Around the hair line you want to apply the least amount of oil.  We have natural oils called sebum that secrets from the sebaceous glands through the follicles.  Now you can flat iron or thermal curl your hair.  Keep in mind to use small section when flat ironing your hair.  And last wear a silk bonnet or scarf when going to bed it protects the hair from  and frizzy hair or bed hair.

If this does not work you may need to make an appointment with your stylist and they may advise a trim is needed.  When your hair is in poor condition, over processed from chemicals the ends are very porous and a trim is needed and possibly a professional deep penetrating conditioning.
